Yeah Yeah Yeah....
OK.... so i got in a little bit of trouble last week from Emily Batty... she sent me an email saying that i needed to keep my blog more up to date... so here's my excuses... 1) having problems on the home computer logging on to certain pages... and my blog is one of them... 2) there's nothing really exciting to write about!!! I've been spending lots of time at school doing dance with all the kids, playing with my grade 6 volleyball girls, the usual fun with the kids at home... and riding in the basement for hours at a time.... training is coming along well though... tempo watts are coming up and getting more comfortable, 1 and 1's are feeling easier, and the longer outside rides are nice to clear my head.... need to start strength with weights next week... i keep saying that to myself.... but i have plans to make regular posts about life as a Master Racer... demands, committments, difficulties, goals etc.... promise it won't be long...
option #1 - cold nose, cold toes, fresh air, snow...
option #2 - my room of personal torture.... workouts and watching the leafs lose....

The Coolest Place Around....
So i had one of the most fun riding days i've had in a long time recently... Just before christmas, the Trek Store Toronto MTB team gathered at JoyRide150 in Markham for a day of fun on the "urban" scene... and man was it ever fun!!! It's a huge facility with 4 or 5 different rooms... each with a "theme" ... and an XC course that runs around the outside of everything. Street jumps, skinnies, xc course, pump track, foam pit for jumps, beginner area and a ton of cool obstacles and features... definately worth checking out. If you're visiting toronto.... or looking for somewhere to work on your bike skills and still get a great work out... check it out. They also rent bikes if you don't have one or don't travel with one. Check out the webpage on the sidebar for details... and they have more plans to add a Spin Room and an Expert Trials area... I'll be making my way over there once a month for some fun....
The Dreaded Teeter Totter.... gets me every time....
Cool Log Criss Cross...

A pretty cool day....
So one of the guys from my Sunday night hockey team always rents the ice on Christmas Day in the afternoon for some fun family skating time..... lots of kids, lots of exercise and some goodies afterwards. But this year ... aside from the usual festivities.... we all had a bit of a surprise... Another friend is the brother-in-law of Gary Roberts... former Maple Leaf / Penguin... and a really cool guy... i've met him a few times and he's very down to earth and personable. So we get Gary to skate with.... although he took me into the boards and i still have a sore elbow... But we also have the treat of holding an Olympic torch... a real one!!! One of the guys has a work colleague who carried the torch and lent it to us for pics and Torch-time... very cool to hold and hoist. A really neat way to spend the day before Christmas before stuffing ourselves with too much food and falling asleep on the couch....
