Close it up...

Ontario World Champs happened at Horseshoe Resort this year on a Very hilly course...  But lots of fast downhills and flowing single track helped you forget about throwing up on the holds...  Had a good start and was out front with Rob after half a lap. We were back and forth and respectfully waited for each other when having problems passing lapped riders..  Masters are so polite!!!  Was clear that we were perfectly matched and it would take a mistake before deciding the winner. Unfortunately it was me that made the mistake... Having to dab on an uphill when passing a lapped rider... Giving Rob the 5 seconds he needed ... I ended up catching him but not enough space to get around in the tight tape. So 2nd by 1.3sec... Can't be unhappy with my ride but wish it could have been a different result...  But I for the last laugh on the Podium!!!

The Things We Do...

Did out annual Ride for Karen bottle drive...  Looks like the neighbours have been working (drinking?) hard to send kids to camp...  Congrats for helping me raise over $200 for the cause!!!

Ride for Karen Fun

It's that time of year again... when the annual Charity ride the benefit sick kids and send them to camps happens... the World Famous Ride for Karen!!!
As usual, i'm not able to take part because the OCA can't schedule MTB Provs and RFK on different days, but a good friend will be challenging himself with the 100km route.

In the last year, RFK raised over $1.4 Million dollars and helped thousands of kids.... so step up and do your part to make a difference to those less fortunate!!!

Found 'em!!

Got to play around on one of the best OCup courses that i've ridden (thanks Scott Holmes!!) and had some great legs for it.... finally.  I was able to sit in comfortably and take charge on some hills, and caught / passed some of the faster 30-39 year old guys with relative ease.... too bad Eric Jobin had a mechanical because it would have been a good test and chance to measure my performance....


First climb was a tough / steep one that required some real effort.... but also gave me a chance to catch on in the field afterwards and make sure i was where i wanted to be for the singletrack...



The Famous Rock Launch proved to be a popular audience location.... the hardest part is making the right hander at the bottom!!!



The finish climb was on the same slope as the start and the dreaded Son of a Pitch... so 3 times up the Kicker per lap makes life that much less enjoyable...
