Snap Crackle Pop

Rolled into my 2nd Favorite Place (Trek Store Toronto has to be #1) the other day... Peak Health and Wellness in Brooklin... met up with Dr. Sheila Keber for some treatment again... hoping to get back into the Every-Other-Week routine.... 

Warm welcome and big smiles from the 'Doc ... and my 20min appt turned into a 60min info gathering session.... i feel like i should pay her for 1st Year Kinesiology class...

She's dainty, petite and blonde.... but she can really hurt me when she wants.... "OK... big deep breathe... and out..." ... Body Slam.... Crunch!!!  "Wow i felt that one in my toes!!!" And then the Receptionist laughs about the noises through the wall....

Always nice to be strapped up to the Volts to warm everything up and ease everything out....

Playing in the Rocks at Tremblant

Spent the long weekend playing around in the rocks at Mont Tremblant's CCup.... and it was probably the nicest weather we've had in years...and rode Really well considering i didn't have the ideal Race Prep on the Friday Night... that post will come soon...

 Normally Tremblant and I trade back and forth who wins... i'll win 1 year, flat and have to run the next, win again, flat and run again... this was my year to Flat and Run... but i broke the cycle!!  Found the Top Step of the Podium again ....

 Warm-up consisted of carrying stuff to the Tech Zone for Taylor...

Had a great start, made a well timed pass from 8th - 2nd on the first lap, caught the lone guy up front, laid the boots to him, kept gaining on him during the rough downhill (Yes Ontario guys can ride rough downhills....) and 2nd flatted coming down the downhill the last time... so Rob Parniak (Tall Trees) was 2nd... 4:25 back...
Everything in the race went perfectly and i'm very happy with my current form for Hardwood CCup and Nats... it's always a good feeling when Above Race Pace HR feels comfortable...

Come Ride with Us

So next weekend (June 2 and 3) will be the Trek Store Canada Cup at Hardwood Hills... always a great race and one that is fun for the athletes and the spectators... come on out and cheer us on!!!

The Trek Canada Team will be hosting Free Pre-Ride Clinics on Saturday for Sport and Kid riders... come check out the course with us and learn a few Fast Lines... check out Pulse Racing . com for registration or call the Trek Toronto Store for info....

There will be photo ops and Poster Signing after the ride... some meet and Greet with Adam Morka, Pete Glassford, Mitch Bailey, Cayley Brooks, Eric Batty and the Trek-Subaru Rider who is currently ranked TOP 10 IN THE WORLD Emily Batty....

Yeah.. i'll be there too in case anyone cares...

Sign 'Em Up!!

Busting out some new talent on the Racing Scene.... makes me feel old that my Kids can now Race Officially...

 Jake "The Beast" Barnes commented that "Daddy... there was no-one that could keep up to me in the Kids Race..." Yeah... so next time pass the Rabbit!!!

 "Lightning" Luke rocked the Squirt Division at Woodnewton for his first race... a great Rider but we need to work on his Racing... too willing to ride into the bushes to let other people lap him...

 Representing Trek Store Toronto and looking good doing it... watch for him at Hardwood, Albion and Buckwallow...

The "Ambiance" at the trailer has changed a bit with my kids around... and we all enjoy a nice cold drink after a hard Race....

When Daddy's in Charge

So Mother's Day weekend, the Liberal MPP from Whitby always stocks the local pond with Rainbow Trout and invites everyone to come fish, have their faces painted and become Politically Swayed... so off we went... had a great time catching fish (thanks to a nice old guy who donated a "Special Spinner" so we could catch fish) on a beautiful day...

 Both Luke and Jake hauled in a Lunker...

So we took them home for dinner.... the kids thought it was great that we were going to "Clean" our fish...

until they saw what "Cleaning" meant.... "Ewwww.... Daddy, that's Gross!!! .... Can i touch the guts?"

And we actually ate the fish.... still spitting out some bones due to my Lack of Filet Skills... but fun...

Slow start on the first Couple....

Started the Season with the Ontario (World?) Cup Series these last couple weekends... and had a bit of a slow start to it all... did not have a chance to hit the Donut ride or a weekly Faster Master Jam Session around here before racing... so had lots of tempo and base but no real High End...

 Felt pretty strong for both Mansfield and Woodnewton, but had to contend with Mike Garrigan (yes... the same Mike Garrigan who just won P2A and is in the top 10 for Elite Men in Canada) so that was a fun surprise!!!  Rode really well at Woodnewton but missed the Split... got stuck behind some Cadets and slower Females and could not bridge up...

 Happy with how the legs felt at Woodnewton (sluggish at Mansfield...yuck...) and was finally aggressive and on the throttle and not afraid to hang it out...

Woodnewton Course was fantastic (thanks to Sean Ruppel for that...) and the weather was just perfect... so after 2 O'Cups... i'm sitting 3rd for call up after a pair of 3rds on the Podium...

i'll get there.... but it's time to go to work!!!

Looking for some Strength Training and a bit more Curb Appeal for the house... so the kids and i decided to Re-Do the front lawn... turned out to be more problems than planned... Dumping dirt turns out to cost BIG money so the 2nd load goes to Batty Farm, trailer tire goes flat with 1st dirt pick up, new tires cost more BIG money, new tires rub on trailer when loaded 2nd round dirt - have to pitch some in ditch to lighten load, while waiting for tools - kids lighten their own "Loads" in the ditch, seed gets spread and sod rolled after a 4hr Donut ride... 3 weeks of problems for a bit of greenery...

we better have the best damn lawn in Brooklin after this!!!
