Never too cold...

when the mercury drops... the speed stops.... haven't been outside riding in a while... too bloody cold... and i've been trying to NOT live in the basement on the trainer... the run times and distances are getting better... and i'm now comfortable with 1.5hrs or about 16ish km's....

the only problem is that i tend to run from 8:30 until 10pm.... the roads are nice and quiet but it's also a bit lonely.... just me and Rihanna on the iPod....

been off the blog for a few weeks... sorry... computer was down and out so that messed me up...

hit some gravel roads on the CX bike the other weekend with Mike Steed (Norco / Jordan Engineering) ... roads were beautifully dusted with snow (not slush) and hit Westney north.... about 10km of climbing.. he hurt me on the flats and got payback once the road tipped upwards....

been feeling really good lately.... running is coming back now that the toe is mostly better... strength feels good in the gym and i can recovering enough to walk stairs properly the day after heavy leg presses... weighted snowshoe walks leave me feeling pleasantly fatigued... and watts on the trainer are moving up for tempo and 1+1's....

spend some time in the back yard making a dragon.... not a "dragony" colour but still got the attention of the neighbours...

i welcome back the feeling of gentle soreness which is demanding more intensity.... as good as it feels... it also means more work...

Nite Out

Went out the Special Showing of Chasing Legends.... the HTC Columbia's Teams story from the 2009 Tour de France... a good bit on Lance but more about George (love him...) and Cavendish's battles with Thor.... and the best part was that i WON TICKETS!!!! it pays to do the survey on Canadian Cyclist... thanks Rob Jones....

awesome movie and made it out with about 12 other riders... sushi afterwards and a re-newed desire to race again.... only a few more months...

also realized from the Upcoming Posters that Steve Heck now has a new Nickname.. he has been upgraded from "Chicken Legs" to "Rango"... the resemblance it totally there.. although i think that steve is leaner...

can't wait for a summer of rides filled with "Rango's attacking!!".... "Hey Rango, can we stop for a pee break?"..... "Rango..... EAT SOMETHING!!!".....

to get a good 4hr work-out....

had an official Snow Day from school and spent it shovelling driveways (damn me and my generous heart for my neighbours with babies).... followed by Tobogganing with the kids...

and then a Family Snowshoe around the Batty's farm... the snow was awesome and i was very glad to have the day off to spend with the kids and play in the snow....

everyone slept well that nite..
