Found 'em!!

Got to play around on one of the best OCup courses that i've ridden (thanks Scott Holmes!!) and had some great legs for it.... finally.  I was able to sit in comfortably and take charge on some hills, and caught / passed some of the faster 30-39 year old guys with relative ease.... too bad Eric Jobin had a mechanical because it would have been a good test and chance to measure my performance....


First climb was a tough / steep one that required some real effort.... but also gave me a chance to catch on in the field afterwards and make sure i was where i wanted to be for the singletrack...



The Famous Rock Launch proved to be a popular audience location.... the hardest part is making the right hander at the bottom!!!



The finish climb was on the same slope as the start and the dreaded Son of a Pitch... so 3 times up the Kicker per lap makes life that much less enjoyable...



Trek World Super Stars

Tow of my favorite Trek People on and off the bike... Hard to choose who I admire more...

Imagine if they spend a few hours riding and talking Strategy??  Man that would be a Golden Conversation...

I always know when I'm having a good block of Training at the cottage when I run out if Trek Canada Kit and have to throw it down Retro Style!!!

Yup... Still Hate Tempo... But Love what it does for my legs!!

What you don't like or are not good at should be the focus of your training to continue improving...  Have I heard that somewhere???

Faster Masters and their Squirts...

Decided to pair up with Rob and Max Holmgren for the 8hr Relay Race at Hardwood. Snuck into the 85-114yr old category with the Young Guns and rocked the 10km course. Surprised ourselves half way through when we were in contention so we had to bribe the kids with Donuts and Toonies if they could throw down their fastest laps. Finished up 3rd in the category and got the kids their first (of many??) podium visits. Shout out to Barry and the Old Boys for crushing their category. 

Am I that funny?

Enjoyed yet another nice Weekly Race / Ride at Hardwood today and got spoiled by the complementary massage before riding. The kids gathered to laugh at the veins sticking out in my head while I tried to breathe through hamstring work. 

Another Punch in the Face...

Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back for more...  Decided to pull the trigger and race Road Provs again... Same location as last year but much better weather. Although at a MTBer I still find it frustrating that the stronger person doesn't always win. Wheels of Bloor had 13 people in our race and allowed a Break to roll away after 1 lap and then blocked / disrupted any chance of getting them back. Was climbing really strong at the front of the group all day but to no real avail. Made the last time up the hill uncomfortable for the sprinters before getting swarmed and finishing Mid-30's. it was a pretty fast 96km for a bunch of old guys!!!
